Beginner Courses
 

We offer ‘taster / have a go’ sessions every few months for those who think they might like to try archery but are not sure if they would take to it as a regular sport. These courses are of around of 2½ - 3 hours on Saturday afternoons at our indoor barn venue. (Dates to be confirmed).

 

The cost of the course is £15 - please pay at start of first session.

 

After completing this course, you will have gained the basic skills and concept of shooting technique for Recurve and Barebow archery. If you then decide you would like to take up archery as a regular sport by joining our club, we will then provide further tuition upon joining including understanding the equipment, safety rules, archery etiquette, basis of scoring, and bow assembly.

Club Membership Fees (2023-24)

Our current annual membership fees are –

£143.00 for adults

£123 for over 65

£92.00 for 18-24 year old.

£59.50 for juniors under 18.

 

Pro Rata Membership fees from 1st April 2024

£79.50 for adults

£67.00 for over 65

£54.00 for 18-24 year old.

£31.50 for juniors under 18.

 

Fees includes affiliation to national governing body - Archery GB that covers your insurance to shoot, and also County affiliation with Essex & Suffolk Archery Association.

Club Equipment Hire:

We also hire out equipment for up to the first 6 months of your membership which costs £30. There is a subsequent charge of £20 for every 3 months that you wish to continue your hire of equipment. This is recommended by many clubs so that beginners have time to practice their archery to also have better understanding of the level of equipment you may need as equipment is expensive and we do not want anyone to rush out and buy the wrong gear that may cause muscular injury, or that you grow out of in few months.
